After Big Drops in 2025, Molly McCorriston Verbally Commits to Dartmouth for 2026-27

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Molly McCorriston has announced her verbal commitment to the admission process at Dartmouth College for the fall of 2026. She publicized the announcement on Instagram, writing:

I’m super excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at Dartmouth College!! I would like to thank my family, friends, teammates, and coaches Tyler and Alice for the endless support. I also want to thank coaches Milana and Blair for giving me this opportunity. GO BIG GREEN!

A Washington native, McCorriston is a senior at Hazen High School in Renton, where she has been a member of the swimming and diving team all four years. She also currently trains year-round with Seattle Metropolitan Aquatic Club, primarily specializing in butterfly and middle-distance freestyle.

McCorriston was on fire in 2025, turning in a plethora of lifetime best performances across her primary events. Throughout the year, she dropped 3.64 seconds in the 200 fly, 5.19 seconds in the 500 free, 1.85 seconds in the 200 free, and 1.64 seconds in the 100 fly. Her 100 free also improved by two one-hundredths, while the 50 free stands as her only best time established outside of 2025, set in December 2024.

Nearly all of her personal bests have come within the past three months at various meets. She clocked her 51.44 100 free personal best at the WIAA Girls 4A State Championship and her 4:58.23 500 free career best at the PN AGI Division 2 meet, both in November. December brought 2:02.09 in the 200 fly and 1:49.33 in the 200 free at the Tualatin Hills Holiday Classic, along with 55.18 in the 100 fly at the Washington State Senior Championships.

At Washington Senior State, she picked up third in the 200 fly, her first medal at the meet, in addition to taking fourth in the 100 fly and fifth in the 200 free. Her best placements prior to 2025 in ‘A’ finals were fifth in the 200 fly in 2024, sixth in the 200 fly and seventh in the 200 free in 2023.

The 2025 Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association 4A state champion in the 200 free, McCorriston wrapped up her high school career at the meet in November. She won the title with a then-best time of 1:49.49, in addition to taking runner-up in the 100 free. She was second in both events as a junior when she clocked her previous best times in both events. She’s six for seven in making an ‘A’ final at the meet, having placed fifth in the 500 free and sixth in the 200 free as a sophomore after securing 13th in the 100 free as a freshman.

She qualified for and competed at the 2024 Winter Junior Championships West, placing 53rd in the 200 fly (2:06.60), 60th in the 200 free (1:51.62), and 99th in the 100 free (52.02).

Top SCY Times:

  • 50 Freestyle: 23.88
  • 100 Freestyle: 51.44
  • 200 Freestyle: 1:49.33
  • 500 Freestyle: 4:58.23
  • 100 Butterfly: 55.18
  • 200 Butterfly: 2:02.09

A Division I Mid-Major program, Dartmouth competes in the Ivy League Conference, with the women’s team finishing seventh out of eight teams at the 2025 Ivy League Championships. Based on the results from last season’s conference championships, McCorriston would have landed in the ‘B’ final in the 200 free and the 200 fly and the ‘C’ final in the 100 fly and the 500 free, putting her in a position to score some points early on.

On the team itself, McCorriston would currently rank first in the 200 free and 200 fly, second in the 500 free and 100 fly, fourth in the 100 free, and seventh in the 50 free, setting her up to be one of the team’s top contributors.

Joining McCorriston in the pool next season will be Madeline Crawford (23.88/51.70/1:50.99/4:56.78 freestyle), Kate Douglas (23.27/51.35 free, 55.18 back, 56.09 fly), and Lindsay Forebaugh (58.45/2:01.62 back, 55.87/1:59.78 fly), all of whom should make for strong training partners and key pieces of Dartmouth’s future relays.

*Note: A verbal commitment between an Ivy League coach and a prospective student-athlete is not an offer of admission, as only the Admission Office has that authority. The coach can only commit his or her support in the admission process. Ivy League Admission Offices do not issue “Likely Letters” before October 1 of the prospective student-athlete’s senior year of high school. The Likely Letter, while issued after an initial read of the student’s application, is not an offer of admission to the university.
