2026 Women’s NCAA Division I Championship: Day 4 Prelims Scratches – 2025 scorer Angove out of 2IM

2026 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships

The final day of the women’s 2026 NCAA championships sees a flurry of scratches, although few from swimmers likely to challenge the top 16.

Sienna Angove is one of the bigger names, scratching the 200 IM. She was just the #45 seed this year in 1:57.72 but would rank 11th with her best time of 1:54.81 from last year.

The OSU swimmer has finished just outside the points in her two races so far, placing 17th in the 200 free and 21st in the 500 free. That marked a shakeup from her schedule last year when she swam the 400 IM, placing 8th in the ‘A’ final.

Brady Kendall scratches the 100 freestyle after taking 7th in the 50 free last night, and will only swim on the 400 free relay today. The Michigan swimmer set a new best of 47.95 at Big Tens, but only sat at 39th on the psych sheets. Her 400 free relay split at Big Tens was 46.71, and a similar performance tonight would be valuable for Michigan’s place in the overall standings.

Elveta Klevanovich also scratches the 100 freestyle as the #34 seed, and will only swim on Auburn’s 400 free relay this morning. Jada Duncan (UCLA), Erin Little (OSU), and Claudia Yovanovich (UCLA) are in the same position.

Several swimmers scratch one of two events they had entries for today. Charlotte Hook, who placed 17th in the 400 IM in 4:06.10, drops out of the 200 IM and will swim the 200 fly instead. She is the #22 seed there, but placed 13th in 2024.

Delaware’s Victoria Novinskiy also scratches the 200 IM for the 200 fly, where she is the #19 seed. Joanna Kozan (#42) and Ella Jablonski (#39) both scratch the 200 fly for the 200 IM.

Sofia Sartori will swim the 200 fly and scratch the 200 backstroke, with Virginia’s Tess Howley the only women to be swimming the “dirty double” of the 200 backstroke and 200 fly this morning, a schedule made more difficult as the events are back-to-back.

Surprised Charlotte Wilson didn’t drop the 200 IM, as she’s a projected 200 back scorer. She has a little time to cool down and warm up, but it’s still a tough turn.

C. Wilson has nothing to lose since Todd DeSorbo will be lifting the NCAA DI Women’s Championships trophy later this evening.

Ridiculous having 200 back, 200 fly and 200 IM all on the same day.
