Alexis Schmidt from Sevierville, Tennessee has announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic careers at Cincinnati beginning in fall 2026.

Schmidt swims for Tennessee Aquatics out of Knoxville, TN. She had a huge meet at Winter Juniors- East back in December, swimming lifetime bests in three events. She most notably finaled in the 50 free, finishing 14th in a lifetime best 22.86. She was 0.01 faster in prelims with a 22.85. She also swam a lifetime best 50.88 in the 100 free for 45th as well as a 25.92 while leading off the team’s 200 medley relay.
She is currently a senior at Sevier County High School. This past weekend, Schmidt swam to a 2nd place finish in the 50 free at the TISCA State Championships, touching in a 22.97. She also finished 3rd in the 100 free with a 50.81, tying her lifetime best from Winter Juniors.
Schmidt’s Best SCY Times Are:
- 50 free: 22.76
- 100 free: 50.81
- 200 free: 1:52.42
- 100 back: 56.23
The Cincinnati women finished 6th out of 10 teams at the 2025 Big 12 Championships with 800.5 points, finishing just nine points behind 5th place Utah. Breaststroker Joleigh Crye led the way with 73 individual points including a win in the 100 breast (58.09).
Based on her best times, Schmidt is a huge addition to the team’s sprint group as she would currently sit at #1 in the 50 free so far this season. Her best time in the 50 free would have made the 2025 Big 12 ‘B’ final. Cincinnati had one ‘A’ finalist, one ‘B’ finalist, and two ‘C’ finalists in the 50 free.
Schmidt will arrive this fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Sadie Minich, Nicole Amike, Haley Johnson, Macartney Mahler, Riley Miller, Nina Heron, Lily Swope, McKenzie Jenny, and Olivia Wenert.
