World Juniors Finalist Parker Deshayes Commits To Arizona State For 2026

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Parker Deshayes from Foothills, Alberta, Canada has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at Arizona State beginning in fall 2026.

“I am super excited to finally announce my commitment to Arizona State University to pursue my swimming and academic careers! It has been a long awaited decision that I am happy to finally share. I cannot wait to be a part of such an incredible team! I first want to thank Coach Herbie and all the other ASU staff who have given me this opportunity! I want to thank my current coaches, Dave and Wendy Johnson who have undoubtedly given me the tools to get me to where I am today. Finally I want to thank my family and friends who have always given me unwavering support in the pursuit of my goals and pushed me to become who I am today! Even through some of the hardest times of my life they have been there for me. And surely enough all of the hard work paid off. I am truly grateful and excited for what the future has to offer! Forks Up !!!”

Deshayes swims for Cascade Swim Club and most recently swam at Ontario Junior Nationals (SCM) in December where he swam best times in all of his events. Highlighting his swims were wins in the 50 back (24.26), 100 back (51.73), 200 back (1:54.20), and 50 fly (23.87).

Back in August, Deshayes represented Canada at the World Junior Championships. There he was highlighted by an 8th place finish in the 100 back (LCM) as he swam a lifetime best 54.84. He also made semifinals of the 50 back, finishing 13th.

Deshayes’ Best SCM Times (With SCY Conversions) Are:

  • 100 back: 51.73 (46.60)
  • 200 back: 1:54.20 (1:42.88)
  • 100 fly: 52.89 (47.64)

The Arizona State men captured the 2025 Big 12 Championship team title and went on to finish 6th at the 2025 NCAA Championships. The team was led by Ilya Kharun who finished 2nd in both butterfly events. Kharun notably represented Canada at the international level but has announced his plans to represent the US in the future.

Based on his best converted times, Deshayes has the chance to make an immediate impact at the conference level. His best converted time in the 100 and 200 backs would have made the Big 12 ‘A’ finals. He also is not far off of NCAAs as it took a 45.26 in the 100 back and a 1:40.13 in the 200 back to make the 2025 meet. The team’s top backstroker this season is graduate student Adam Chaney who arrived from Florida. Chaney will have graduated by the time Deshayes arrives.

Deshayes will arrive this fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Brennen O’Neil, Henry Lyness, Ian Disosway, Jake Lloyd, London Rising, Tyler Porter, Cody Smith, Dillon Albertyn, Jack Culberson, Kristupas Trepočka, Oliver Munn, and Onur Oksuz.
