PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers swimming and diving celebrated Senior Day on Friday, honoring eight seniors pre-meet. Afterwards, the Scarlet Knights went out and dominated La Salle in the pool for a 225-71 win.
Prior to the meet, Rutgers’ celebrated a senior class that included seven swimmers and one diver. The Scarlet Knights honored Angelica Bath, Megan Fox, Grace Hagemaster, Jillian Ruffner, Ellie Schinsky, Katherine Lang, Cameron Kuriger and Sephora Ford.
On the swimming side, Rutgers had the event winner in every race, placed someone 1-2 in every race but three, and had the top three finishers in two events. In diving, Rutgers had the top four finishers on both 3-meter and on platform.
For RU, Megan Fox, Chiara Alberti and Sofia Bartoloni each won two events. Overall, nine different Scarlet Knights had an individual first place finish, as Goksu Dogan, Blanka Berecz, Emillianna Gonzalez, Angelica Bath, Anna Vlachou and Ana Hazlehurst all won one race apiece. Additionally, Rutgers had two first place finishes in relays.
Amelia Scott’s mark of 238.80 on platform diving was her Rutgers’ best mark and comes in 10th on RU’s top-10 list. Four current RU divers now hold spots on the program’s top-10 in platform diving, with Sephora Ford (2nd), Bailee Sturgill (3rd) and Katerina Hoffman (8th) all holding spots on that top-10 already from previous meets.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — La Salle women’s swimming and diving faced a tough test on the road at Rutgers, falling 225-71 on Friday evening at Rutgers Aquatic Center.
Beren Celik delivered the team’s highest individual finishes, earning second place in both the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.51 and the 200-yard individual medley in 2:09.51.
Tori Fenn provided consistency in the sprint events, placing third in both the 100-yard backstroke (57.89) and the 100-yard freestyle (53.52). Fenn also anchored the second-place 200 freestyle relay.
Felicia Rogell contributed a strong performance in the butterfly and distance events, tying for third in the 100-yard butterfly at 58.27 and finishing fourth in the 1000-yard freestyle in 10:55.46.
Gabriela Herbreder matched Rogell’s mark in the 100 fly and recorded a fourth-place result in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:07.48.
The Explorers closed the meet on a high note in the 200-yard freestyle relay, as the quartet of Herbreder, Fenn, Schermerhorn and Van Selm secured second place with a time of 1:38.66.
