Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this candidate will be to assist coaching and directing DSU’s intercollegiate swimming/diving program (includes management in the areas of scholarship, practice, recruiting, etc); assist in coordinating schedules with Aquatics Director to ensure pool safety and maintenance; develop and market new programs to increase utilization of Aquatics Center and meet the needs of DSU and the community; implement, update and enforce emergency action plans for aquatic facility; develop competition schedules and arrange team travel for swim/dive teams; oversee academic advising and monitor academic progress of student athletes; oversee routine cleaning of the aquatic area and equipment inventory; organize and implement promotional and fundraising activities in support of Swim Program.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. American Red Cross, YMCA or equivalent IT certifications in Lifeguard Training, Water Safety, Water Exercise, and CPR /FA/AED with instructor certification. Certified Pool Operator with knowledge of state and national health and safety standards and regulations associated with the operation of a public swimming pool. Coaching experience preferably at the college level. Experience in pool facility management.
