Dear Coaches,

The U.S. Professional Diving Coaches Association is launching two major initiatives to better support high school and beginner diving coaches across the country. We know that coaching diving at this level often comes with unique challenges, limited resources, and inconsistent rules from state to state. Many coaches are new to the sport, coaching as former swimmers or teachers, and often feel unsure about progressions, rules, or how to address common athlete frustrations. You are not alone, and we want to help.

1. January Town Hall for High School and Beginner Coaches
We will be hosting a Town Hall in January for high school and beginner coaches. The goal is to create an open space where coaches can share frustrations, ask questions, and receive support and guidance from other coaches who have been in your shoes.

To make the Town Hall as helpful and relevant as possible, please take a few minutes to complete the survey below. Your feedback will shape the topics discussed and guide our panel.

2. New PDCA Committee on High School Diving Standards
High school diving looks very different across the country. Rules vary, manuals are inconsistent, seasons differ widely, and meet formats are not aligned. This creates confusion for divers and coaches, especially those new to coaching or transitioning between states.

To address this, the PDCA is forming a national committee that will review diving manuals, rules, season structures, and meet formats in all 50 states. The committee will develop PDCA recommendations that can help move high school diving toward more consistency and best practices.

If you are interested in serving on this committee, we invite you to apply using the link below. Coaches from all backgrounds and experience levels are encouraged to apply.

We appreciate everything you do for the sport and for the athletes you work with. Supporting high school and beginner coaches is one of our top priorities, and we look forward to working together to strengthen the sport across the country.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. We hope to see you at the Town Hall on January 18th at 8:00 pm EST
