Grana now holds the Indiana record in four different events, having reset the 100 fly mark two weeks ago at the Ohio State Invitational in a time of 49.98. She also owns the 100 back (49.62) and 200 back (1:48.73) records, both set at the 2025 NCAAs.
Individually, Grana also won the 200 IM on Friday, clocking 2:00.24 for a new season-best, and she was also the runner-up in the 100 free (49.82) behind teammate Kristina Paegle.
Paegle, a senior, clocked 48.07 to book the victory, improving on her season-best time of 48.69 set at the OSU Invite.
Prior to that, Paegle won the 50 free in another season-best, 21.88, as she lowered her 22.07 mark from the OSU Invite.
The runner-up to Paegle in the 50 free was fellow Hoosier senior Mya DeWitt, who clocked 22.44 in that race and also swept the backstroke events, posting times of 51.65 in the 100 back and 1:54.63 in the 200 back. Those swims weren’t too far off her respective season-bests of 51.07 and 1:53.30, set two weeks ago.
Also earning two individual wins on the day were IU freshman Grace Hoeper and junior diver Ella Roselli.
Hoeper first won the 200 free in 1:46.20, narrowly edging out teammate Reese Tiltmann (1:46.26), and then followed up by claiming the 100 fly in 53.46. Hoeper’s 200 free swim was just shy of the best time she set at the OSU Invite (1:46.06), while her 100 fly swim marked a big PB (previously 54.30) in what was her first time racing the event in college.
Tiltmann added a win of her own in the 500 free, clocking 4:51.20 to come within a second of her PB set in January (4:50.56).
Roselli swept the women’s diving events, putting up a score of 317.10 on 1-meter and then scoring 364.95 on 3-meter as Indiana claimed the top four spots in both.
In the meet-opening 200 medley relay, DeWitt (24.02), Jonette Lagreid (27.79), Grana (23.06) and Hoeper (22.00) combined for the victory in 1:36.87, with Sze Yeo anchoring the IU ‘B’ team in 21.91 as they placed 2nd.
Lagreid also won the 200 breast in 2:12.73.
Other winners included IU’s Luci Gutierrez in the 1000 free (9:54.97), Cincinnati’s Lindi Worrell in the 100 breast (1:00.67), and the IU 200 free relay of Paegle, Amelia Bray, Alessandra Gusperti and Yeo, though official splits were unavailable.
MEN’S RECAP
The Hoosier men were led by sophomore Raekwon Noel, who won three events to continue his breakout season at IU.
Noel kicked the meet off swimming the backstroke leg on the Hoosiers’ 200 medley relay, splitting 21.87 before he was followed by Toby Barnett (24.22), Andrew Shackell (20.93) and Dylan Smiley (19.11) as Indiana went 1-2 with the ‘A’ squad clocking 1:26.13.
Noel’s first individual event was the 200 free, where he dropped two seconds from his best time in 1:35.33 to lead a 1-2-3 sweep for Indiana. His previous best stood at 1:37.31 from the 2024 OSU Invite, though he split 1:33.59 in the 800 free relay two weeks ago at the OSU Invite.
He followed up with another PB in the 100 free, clocking 42.86 to lower his two-week-old best of 43.10 from the OSU Invite, with teammate Vidar Carlbaum finishing a close 2nd in 43.00.
Noel closed things out with a dominant showing in the 200 IM, knocking seven seconds off his three-year-old best time in 1:46.25, with Cincinnati sophomore Owen Chiles (1:48.24) snagging the runner-up spot.

After anchoring the victorious 200 medley relay, Smiley came back with a pair of individual wins, claiming the 100 breast (52.63) and 100 fly (47.62), knocking nearly a second off his personal best time in the 100 breast (53.61 set at this meet last year).
To close out the meet, Smiley led off in 19.75, and he was followed by Carlbaum (19.43), Max Lestina (19.28) and Cooper McDonald (19.70) as IU won the 200 free relay in 1:18.16.
Carlbaum also won the 50 free in a season-best of 19.45, coming just one one-hundredth shy of his best time set at the 2025 Big Tens, while two other members of the 200 medley relay, Barnett and Shackell, had wins of their own. Barnett topped the 200 breast (1:55.10) and Shackell (4:22.34) won the 500 free.
Freshman Josh Bey was a workhorse at the meet, winning the 200 fly (1:45.08) while also placing 2nd in the 500 free (4:23.93) and 3rd in the 200 IM (1:48.77). Fellow first-year Luke Ellis clocked 8:56.41 in his first 1000 free swim in the NCAA, ranking him 20th in the nation, while another freshman, David Kovacs, topped the 100 back in 48.19 after setting a best of 46.35 two weeks ago at OSU.
On the boards, Indiana rolled as expected, sweeping the top four spots in both events with Maxwell Weinrich winning the 1-meter (425.55) and Joshua Sollenberger (391.28) claiming the 3-meter.
