BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Niagara swimming showcased their depth Friday at the Buffalo Invitational, capturing multiple event titles and relay victories on the opening day of competition at Alumni Arena in Buffalo, N.Y.

Niagara swept both 200-yard freestyle relays to start the night. The men’s relay team of Jura DomanovacWill ManolitsasThomas Latimer and Nate Eaton clocked 1:23.19, while the women’s squad of Alaina PittonMegan JacksonMy-Ky Vo and Claire Gorton touched in 1:34.36.

Natalie Killion paced the women’s distance events, winning the 500 freestyle in 4:52.98. James Coyne led a strong Purple Eagles showing in the men’s 500 free, taking first in 4:35.25, with Andrew Davis (4:39.51) and Eaton (4:41.77) finishing second and third.

In the sprint events, Jackson captured the women’s 50 freestyle (23.43), while Domanovac won the men’s 50 free (21.05).

Pitton continued her strong night with a victory in the 200 individual medley, posting 2:03.10. Lance Cruz won the men’s 200 IM in 1:48.90, with Holden Brock placing second (1:49.97) and Latimer third (1:50.03).

The Purple Eagles also claimed wins in the 50-yard backstroke, with Owen Stoneburgh touching first in 24.01, and the 50 breaststroke, where Jacob Lauzonis finished atop the podium in 25.82.
