It’s hard to imagine a more impactful way to begin a state meet. At the Florida 1A state championships in Ocala over the weekend, the Bolles 200 boys’ medley relay team set a national record, dominating the field in a time of 1:26.67.
The team of Columbia commit Krish Jain (21.95), Michigan commit Lucas Young (24.37), Harvard commit George Dovellos (21.03) and NC State commit Liam Carrington (19.32) broke the old mark of 1:26.75, which was set earlier this year by Hindsdale in Illinois.
The time also broke the previous school record of 1:29.02, set in 2012 by Ryan Murphy, Joseph Schooling, Josh Booth and Santo Condorelli.
It was the 17th time in the last 18 years that the Bolles 200 boys’ medley relay team has won the state title.
That set the stage for another dominant overall state meet performance from Bolles, which easily won its 38th straight state title.
The girls’ squad was also dominant, winning its 35th straight crown.
