For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Fishers, Ind,. native and freestyle specialist Camden Bailey has verbally committed to DePauw University, joining the men’s program in the fall of 2026.

I am very excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Depauw University. First I want to thank Coach Tracy for giving me this opportunity. I would also like to thank all of the coaches who have helped me along the way. Finally, I would like to thank my parents and brother, for being my biggest supporters and helping me every step of the way. Roll Tigs!🐯

Bailey swims for Hamilton Southeastern High School and represents Southeastern Swim Club in Fishers. He finished 25th in the 100 free (47.67) at the Indiana State High School Championships, where he also snatched a lifetime best in the 50 free, leading off the 200 free relay in 21.93.

A week earlier, Bailey set best times in the 100 free (47.26) and 200 free (1:44.35) at the IHSAA Boys Sectional – Hamilton Southeastern meet.

Bailey’s freestyle range expands beyond the sprint events, holding best times of 4:53.49 in the 500 free, 10:35.83 in the 1000, and 17:25.69 in the 1650.

Best Times SCY:

  • 50 Free: 21.93
  • 100 Free: 47.26
  • 200 Free: 1:44.35
  • 500 Free: 4:53.49
  • 1000 Free: 10:35.83
  • 1650 Free: 17:25.69
  • 100 Back: 53.28
  • 100 Fly: 52.96

DePauw University is a Division III school in the North Coast Athletic Conference. The DePauw men finished 6th at the NCAC.

Bailey will be a useful contributor to the program immediately, he would have finished 8th in the 200 free, 13th in the 100 free, and 22nd in the 500 free at last season’s NCAC Championships.

Based on last season’s DePauw roster, Bailey’s best times would have ranked 3rd in the 100 free and 200 free, and 6th in the 500 free.

Bailey joins Isaiah Winko and Brady Wright in the 2026 recruiting class for DePauw.

Thought when I went through the vid it was different but I wasn’t too sure. He does have a legit 23.8 split so maybe he could find his way down to 23 low but im curious to see still how much he drops in yards

Yeah unfortunately it was done by IU swimmer Brandon Fleck, who swam with Bailey’s team for the summer. 23.8 split is real, though, and he is still rapidly improving

Exciting fall so far for Depauw, but there’s something strange about that 23.3 LC 50 free. It was a full 1.5 faster than his individual 50 in the same meet, which was supposedly also a best time. I hope it’s real.

Wanna get really excited?! I was one of 3 officials running an unofficial intrasquad meet. 1 of the 3 committed DePauw swimmers was there. He was anchoring their 4×100 relay. This swimmer went a 20.8/25.91 in a training suit and no swim cap untapered. I’ll let you guys/gals figure out which one to build the excitement! DePauw’s recruiting has been spectacular the last couple seasons!

This is huge for the program. I just graduated and the momentum on deck has drastically changed compared to where it has been the last several seasons. Proud to say I was apart of the change that is currently ongoing there. Still a lot of work for the team to go but the progress we have made the last 2 seasons is crazy to see. This team has a lot of goals for the next few seasons and lets just say this is apart of that. Results from the first meet have already shown we have gone in a completely new direction for the first time in nearly a decade. Only going up from here!

And that is an insanely… Read more »
