For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Elizabeth Bryan, an NCSA Championship finalist, has announced her verbal commitment to swim for the U.S. Naval Academy beginning in the fall of 2026.
A senior at Oakcrest School in Vienna, Virginia, Bryan will enter her fourth season as a member of the school’s varsity swimming team this winter. She also currently trains year-round with Machine Aquatics, where she excels at breast and IM but is a strong competitor in all four strokes.
At the 2025 Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) State Championship in February, Bryan became the two-time defending state champion in both the 100 breast and 200 IM. She won the 100 breast in 1:02.25 and the 200 IM in a best time of 1:59.90, after having prevailed in both events at the 2024 championship as well.
Bryan is also the two-time defending champion in the 100 breast at the National Catholic High School Championships after winning the event in 2024 (1:03.26) and 2025 (1:03.64).
Bryan delivered a series of top performances a few weeks later at the NCSA Spring Championship. Bryan earned a second swim in seven individual events and posted lifetime best times in six events. She placed 3rd in the 400 IM (4:14.54), 6th in the 100 breast (1:01.41), 10th in the 200 breast (2:13.80) and 15th in the 100 free (50.89), setting personal bests in each event. Bryan also took 13th in the 200 back (1:58.34) after turning in a best time of 1:57.91 during prelims and posted a best time of 26.39 in the 50 back as the lead-off on the 200 medley relay.
Most recently, Bryan competed at the Junior National Championships (LCM), where she clocked a lifetime best time and turned in two season best performances. Bryan finished 37th in the 100 breast (1:12.55 – SB), 55th in the 50 breast (33.60 – PB) and 73rd in the 200 breast (2:39.97 – SB).

A Division I Mid-Major program, Navy competes in the Patriot League, with the women’s team winning their 13th straight conference title at the 2025 Patriot League Championships. Based on last season’s results, Bryan would have won the 400 IM, placed 3rd in the 100 breast, 200 breast and 200 IM, and placed 5th in the 100 free, setting her up to be a key contributor right from the start.
The Navy and Army swimming teams have a longstanding rivalry in the pool, which has historically seen the Midshipmen come out on top. The Navy women’s 35-year dual meet winning streak was broken back in December, when Army beat the Midshipmen 169-131. Navy came back out on top at the 2025 Patriot League Championships, despite falling behind an Army swimmer in events like the 100 and 200 breast, 200 IM and 100 free. Bryan’s addition to the team will boost Navy’s score even further by helping to pick up extra points in her top events.
Set to join Bryan in the pool next fall so far are Anastasia Orlic, Ridley Hagerman, Janice Qiu, Hannah Bateman, Caprie Moreno and Danica Aten.
