Summer Juniors finalist Jeremy Ting has verbally committed to join the Cornell recruiting class of 2026.
Ting lives in Danville, California where he swims for the Pleasanton Seahawks and attends Monte Vista High School. At the CIF Championships in May, Ting finished 4th in the 200 IM in 1:50.02 and 19th in the 500 freestyle at 4:31.49.
Primarily a distance freestyle and IMer, Ting swam the 200 free, 400 free, 200 IM, and 400 IM at the Summer Junior Championships at the end of July, qualifying for the finals in the 200 IM, where he finished 29th with a new personal best time of 2:07.12.
He set new personal best times in most of his events at the Pacific Swimming Far Western Championships in April, finishing top-8 in every event. He swam new bests in the 200 free (1:40.85 – 7th), 500 free (4:28.87 – 4th), 1650 free (15:40.28 – 4th), 200 breast (5th – 2:04.48), 200 fly (1:48.98 – 5th), and 400 IM (3:52.08 – 2nd).

Cornell is a member of the Ivy League where they finished 5th last year, 15 points behind Brown in 4th.
Last season, Ting would have been 4th in the 500 free, 3rd in the 1650, 4th in the 200 fly, and 2nd in the 400 IM. In the 500 free, one swimmer ahead of him will have graduated by the time he arrives on campus, and in the 200 fly, all three athletes ahead of him will graduate.
Ting will join the team as a potential conference scorer in two events already with his 400 IM time placing him in the top 16, and his 200 fly time putting him in the ‘C’ final.
