Here’s an idea for an article: how many Olympic/World swimming stars have parents who have also been big stars, like Katharine Berkoff? Or stated another way, what is the most successful swimming family?

I had to quit listening halfway through.I,m just done with diarrhea stories.I do wonder what the illness was.9 days seems awfully long for food poisoning. Also you have to question whether they should have been in quarantine.I don’t know how much the coaches knew about the root cause of the illness. However it seems to have been passed from swimmer to swimmer pretty easily meaning that getting on an airplane or into a warmup pool is endangering other people, not just your own swimmers. At what point do the coaches make the decision to quarantine and get doctors etc. involved.Seems pretty irresponsible.9 days of illness could easily kill an older or unhealthy person.

I,ll assume the downvotes are in favour of getting in a swimming pool or airplane no matter how sick you are.Not really very surprising to be honest.

It was an obvious contagious type of gastroenteritis. If a different country had allowed their sick swimmers to compete, affecting team USA, there would be a different kind of rant on this blog.

Katharine is such a treasure to USA Swimming! Great interview Coleman! I’m not sure I’ve ever seen you smile that much in a podcast 😉

The answer for why NCState backstroke is so insane is clearly: Braden is a backstroke genius

Everyone still calling if food poisoning is funny. They should not have been in the pool with respect.
