STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Senior Elijah Lanfear and freshman Evan Peters each won three individual events while three Bearcat women swept a pair of individual events, highlighting Binghamton’s sweep at Wagner in a swimming & diving dual meet on Saturday. The Bearcat men won 189-110 while the women were victorious by a 167-129 margin.
Lanfear swept the men’s 50 free (21.41), 100 free (47.58) and 100 fly (50.41). He also swam on the first-place 200 medley relay team that included senior Max Kaback, junior Liam Preston and freshman Tyler Schultz and clocked a time of 1:34.38.
Peters, meanwhile, was a triple event winner for the first time in his career. He swept the 200 free (1:43.17), 200 back (1:54.09) and 200 IM (1:56.34).
Juniors Maria Pignatelli and Elizabeth Tirado as well as sophomore Fayanne Smith-Salzberg were the Bearcats women’s double-event winners. Pignatelli captured the 50 free (24.77) and the 100 free (53.07), Smith-Salzberg took top honors in the 200 breast (2:25.43) and the 200 IM (2:12.64) and Tirado was victorious in the one-meter diving event (245.45) as well as the three-meter diving competition (224.10).
Other Binghamton winners on the women’s side included freshman Natalie Kassirer in the 1,000 free (10:57.61) and sophomore Haley Nowak in the 100 fly (59.41).
The Bearcat men’s team’s other individual event winners against Wagner were sophomore Harrison Lambert in the 1,000 free (9:48.04), sophomore Dylan Norby in the three-meter diving event (273.95), freshman Logan Shriver in the 500 free (4:48.34) and freshman Jacob Koclanis in the one-meter diving competition (249.30).
Binghamton returns home to face Marist in its annual Senior Day Meet this coming Saturday at 1 p.m.

Staten Island, NY – The Wagner swimming & diving teams competed in a dual meet against Binghamton on Saturday in its return to competition. The women dropped their matchup against the Bearcats, 167-129, while the men drooped their martchup, 189-110.
The Seahawks picked up 13 wins out of 32 events on the day.
On the women’s side, freshman Mia Goodale got the Seahawks started as she earned first place finish in the 200-yard freestyle finishing with a time of 1:55.62. Goodale also received first place in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in 5:17.85.
Goodale took second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.15.
Freshman Gaya Savran secured first place in the 200-yard butterfly (2:08.48) and 200-yard backstroke (2:10.99). Savran also came in second place in the 100-yard butterfly finishing in 59.42.
Senior Shamiya Guirre won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.31. Guirre along with sophomore Rebekka Luoto, freshman Lovisa Ramsten and graduate student Allie D’Allegro won the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:47.30.
Luoto also claimed first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.07.
On the men’s side, sophomore Adrian Moreno took first place in the 100-yard breaststroke (57.91) and in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:10.51). Sophomore Nikko Carrillo earned first place in the 200-yard butterfly (1:54.53) and took second place in the 200-yard IM (1:56.63).
The Seahawks came out victorious in the 200-yard freestyle relay, led by Pimpo Mancera (22.18), sophomore Senan Noonan (21.63) , junior Joel Knappi (21.41) and graduate Enrico Mancardo (20.59).
Senior Robert Wagner secured a first place win in the 100-yard backstroke (52.73) and took second place in the 100-yard butterfly (51.79).
Next up, the Seahawks will travel to South Orange, NJ to take on the Seton Hall Pirates on Friday, January 24th.
