University of Utah swimming and diving head coach Jonas Persson and head diving coach Richard Marschner have officially announced the program’s 2024-25 schedule and it will include more than 20 meets, including the program’s first-ever trip to the Big 12 Championships on Feb. 25 – March 1 and the 2025 NCAA Championships, which will be held from March 19 – 22 for the women and March 26 – 29 for the men.

Utah’s regular season slate includes five home dates at the Ute Natatorium, as well as an Intrasquad Meet on Sept. 20, an Alumni Meet on Sept. 28 and the second annual Utah Winter Classic on Dec. 21, while the remainder of their schedule will take them to meets in 10 different states.

The first of those road trips will send the Utes to Grand Junction, Colorado, the same place they began their 2023-24 campaign and the site of the CMU Intermountain Shootout on Oct. 4 – 5. The Utes will follow that with a journey to Tucson, Arizona for their first conference meet as members of the Big 12, a matchup with the Arizona Wildcats.

The team will compete at home for the first official time on Nov. 1, when they’ll host UNLV. The Utes will be aiming for their third straight win over the Rebels, who they defeated in dual meets in 2022-23 and 2023-24.

The Lone Star State will be Utah’s next destination, with the program’s divers competing at the Texas Diving Invitational on Nov. 15 -17, followed by a busy week that will see the squad split between the Texas A&M Invitational on Nov. 20 – 22 and the Colorado Mesa Invitational on Nov. 20 – 23 before starting December in North Carolina at the US Open. Marschner’s divers finish off the 2024 portion of the ledger at the Auburn Diving Invitational on Dec. 18 – 21 and Utah will then play host to the Utah Winter Classic on the 21st.

The Utes lift the lid on 2025 by welcoming the Colorado Mesa Mavericks to Salt Lake City for a Jan. 10 meet, which will be followed one later by a very busy inside the Ute Natatorium. On Jan. 11, Utah’s men’s swimmers will compete against UCSB, while the women will be taking on UCLA. That same day, the program’s divers will be matched against divers from Wisconsin, Texas A&M and UCLA.

The first month of 2025 continues with the UCLA Diving Invitational on Jan. 17 – 19, a home dual meet with Denver on Jan. 17, a clash with Pittsburgh and SMU in Dallas on the 25th and neutral site meeting with the Wyoming Cowboys in Green River, Wyoming on the final day of January.

The first matter of business for the Utes in February will be to renew hostilities with BYU in a home dual meet that will be held on the 7 – 8. Utah set a slew of pool records when they visited Provo in the spring of 2024, one year after defending their home pool with a pair of victories in 2023. Marschner will then take his divers to the UCLA Last Chance Meet on Feb. 14 – 15, while Persson’s swimmers will visit Las Vegas for the UNLV First Chance Meet on Feb. 14 – 15.

From Feb. 25 – March 1, the Utes will take part in the Big 12 Conference Championships for the first time ever and that will be followed by a trip for the divers to the NCAA Zone E Championships on the 10 – 12. Ocala, Florida, the site of the CSCAA National Invitational Championship on March 13 – 15 will be the last stop before Nationals, which will start with the NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships on March 19 – 22, followed by the NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships, scheduled for March 26 – 29. Both events will take place in Federal Way, Wash.
