IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s swimming and diving honors, for the competition week ending Sunday, January 23.
Women’s Swimming Athlete of the Week
Jessica Davis * So. * Cincinnati
Davis swept the competition in the 50 (:23.92), 100 (:52.66) and 200 (1:52.16) freestyle finals for Cincinnati in a 191-100 dual win against rival Xavier on Jan. 21. Davis’ 50 freestyle time ranked 17th in The American this season as of Jan. 25, and Davis previously added additional conference top-25 swims in the 100 and 200 freestyle earlier in the year.
Women’s Diving Athlete of the Week
Emilia Waters * So. * Houston
Waters turned in two podium diving showings for Houston in a 179-121 dual meet victory against conference foe Tulane on Jan. 21 in New Orleans. Waters won the 1-meter dive with an NCAA Zone score of 292.43 points and added a third-place showing off the 3-meter board with an NCAA Zone score of 301.73 points.
