COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State’s Manuela Mendolicchio and Nevada’s Laura Isabel Vazquez Lopez have been named MW Swimming and Diving Peak Players of the Week. Mendolicchio was named swimmer of the week, while Vazquez Lopez garnered diver of the week.
The honor marks both Mendolicchio and Vazquez Lopez’s fourth career accolade.
SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Manuela Mendolicchio, Fresno State
Senior, Bari, Italy
- Against San José State, place first in three individual events and one relay swimming in the Fresno State Aquatics Center. Recorded a pool record in the 200 breast (2:14.07) and a season-best in the 100 breast (1:03.32) and 200 IM (2:05.78).
- Swam the second leg of the top-placing 400 medley relay with a time of 3:46.83
DIVER OF THE WEEK
Laura Isabel Vazquez Lopez, Nevada
Sophomore, Guadalajara, Mexico
- Tallied 18 points in Nevada’s 189-109 victory over New Mexico, taking first in both the 1-meter dive and 3-meter dive.
- Posted a 308.55 on the 1-meter board and 370.58 on the 3-meter board, both the highest scores in the Mountain West on the week in the respective events.
