RCP TIBURON MILE EXCITING WEEKEND OF EVENTS
Tiburon masters swimmer Robert Placak, event founder, will celebrate The 13th Annual RCP Tiburon Mile the weekend of September 8-9th. This star-studded weekend will feature over 10 Olympic Gold Medalists in what is considered the most competitive open water swim in the world right here in our backyard with over 20 countries represented. Olympic Gold Medalists along with Olympic Open Water Bronze Medalist Thomas Lurz will be featured in the event’s Elite Division for the $10,000 prize.
But don’t worry – there’s a Masters Division as well and you have bragging rights to be on the same stage live and race with these world class competitors in an event which will benefit Special Olympics and Hospice By The Bay.
At the end of this 1 nautical mile race (2000 yds) you will be treated to the famous world class brunch on the shores of Tiburon overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge and the skyline of San Francisco. This event is served by 15 of Marin and San Francisco’s best restaurants to help with your world class post-race appetite! With live music what better environment to share your war stories of your quest of the San Francisco Bay (64* expected temp.) with your family and friends. Competitors range from 7-75 years old in an event that has become known as “the family swim”. A father-son or mother-daughter experience, never to be forgotten! Expect CAL and Stanford cheers as these teams participate annually in this Fall classic.
