Division II Grand Valley State University escaped the cold winters of Allendale, Michigan to spend their winter training trip in Fort Lauderdale, Florida last week. The team trained primarily at the facility of Nova Southeastern University, a fewllow Division II team, but also spent time training (and having fun) in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

The video’s producer Rachel Eaton, a senior, put together shots of the team working hard, playing hard, and everything in between. She included some cool drone shots of the team’s swimming and diving workouts that are worth a look.

Grand Valley State returned to competition on Saturday against in-state rivals Wayne State, which the Lakers won 178-118 on the men’s side and 159-141 on the women’s side. The team is building toward the GLIAC Conference Championships from February 14th-17th and then the NCAA Division II Championships from March 13th-17th in Greensboro, North Carolina.
