The Drexel women’s swimming and diving team defeated the Georgetown Hoyas by a final of 166-126 from the Daskalakis Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon as the Dragons celebrated Senior Day.
The women broke six pool records, tying the same total they broke two weeks ago on January 7.
To open the meet, Alexa Kutch, Rachel Bernhardt, Charlotte Myers and Emily Kosten clocked a collective time of 3:46.90 in the 400-yard medley relay for a pool record.
Following that, Aubrey Murray broke the 200-yard freestyle pool mark, one that she previously held, with a new time of 1:52.44.
Kutch also turned in an individual pool mark with a time of 2:04.63 in the 200-yard backstroke.
Kosten did the same but in the 50-yard freestyle at 23.74.
April Forsthoffer took down a 1987 pool record, held by Gail Jacobs of La Salle, as she finished the 400-yard individual medley at 4:30.90. The previous time was 4:31.42.
To close out the meet, Bernhardt, Kutch, Claudia Duguay and Kosten took down a 1990 pool record in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:35.93.
In just the month of January, the women have erased 12 of the 19 available previous pool records with new times set in 2017.
Madison Kramer qualified for zones in both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards on Saturday as well. The senior took first in the 3-meter with a score of 292.58 and narrowly placed second in the 1-meter at 273.75.
Drexel travels to Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pa. next Saturday, Jan. 28 for a swimming-only meet starting at noon. The Drexel divers will make a trip to State College, Pa. for a two-day diving invitational on Saturday, Jan. 28 (2 p.m.) and Sunday, Jan. 29 (11 a.m.).
