JOB DESCRIPTION
FULL TIME HEAD COACH
The YMCA of the North Shore SHARKS is a YMCA/USA Swim Team located on the North Shore of Boston, MA. We are a 6 site team with over 400 competitive age group swimmers from age 5 -18 of varying levels, 150 pre-competitive swimmers and over 100 Masters Swimmers.
We are currently seeking a FULL TIME HEAD COACH who meets most or all of the following criteria:
Required
- 5 + years of experience as a head coach,
- Well-organized with a positive and energetic leadership style
- Great understanding of swimmer development and stroke technique
- A “self-starter” with a strong work ethic/moral values
- A team leader and player with excellent management skills
- Proven oral and written communication skills
Preferred
- Experience with multi-site location teams strongly preferred
- Fluent with Team Unify and Meet Manager
- Certifications*:
- ASCA
- USA Swimming
- YMCA Swimming
- Lifeguard/ Red Cross Safety Training for Coaches
*Any certifications not in place must be acquired in your first 3-6 months.
The Head Coach will oversee the direction and development of the swim team program and coaching staff. This position reports to the Senior Director of Competitive Aquatics who oversees the business management of the competitive aquatics teams and works with the Head Coach to recruit and develop the coaching staff, develop the growth of the teams and manage the relationships with equipment vendors, team sponsors and works with the parent volunteer management group. Compensation is commensurate with experience and credentials
