Night 1 of the 2026 NCSA Championships saw 13 year old Harper Rauch climb all the way up to #22 in the 13-14 age group in the girls 1500 free as she swam to a 16:36.56 in her win. That dropped 35 seconds off her previous lifetime best. Rauch was not even in the top 100 entering the day. She won the event by 29 seconds.
Florida commit for 2027 Abby Chan swam to two wins on the night as she touched in a 56.59 100 free to drop 1.62 seconds from her previous best of a 58.21 she swam in May at the AP Race International meet. She notably swam a 58.80 at this meet a year ago in the event. Chan also won the 50 fly in a 26.98.
15 year old Louise Vidarsson dropped 0.42 seconds in the 200 backstroke to earn the win in a 2:12.96. She now dropped almost five seconds in the event over this summer as she entered the summer long course season with a 2:18.93 lifetime best.
The boys 100 free came down to the final touch as Zamar Zoukovski earned the win in a 50.61, just 0.02 seconds ahead of Benjamin Luginski’s 50.63. Zoukovski dropped 0.37 seconds while Luginski dropped 0.60 seconds on the day.
Luke Collins dropped 12 seconds in his win in the 800 free, touching in a 8:14.38. He came into the meet with a lifetime best 8:26.32 he swam a month ago. Collins never swam the event prior to this summer.
Jack Murphy earned the win in the 200 back with a 2:02.64, dropping over two seconds off his lifetime best while Clark Coyle earned the win in the 50 fly with a 24.42.
