2011-2012

In her innagural season as a mule, Sarah came in and saw immediate and constant drops in her freestyle events. By the end of the season she had goen 5:34.60 in the 500 free and 2:07.96 in the 200 free, setting the stage for what would become four years of reliable and consistent success.

2012-2013

Between her freshman and sophomore seasons, Sarah underwent shoulder surgery. Despite a lengthy recovery and rehabilitation period, she was back in the water and finished up the season dropping time in the 500 free to a 5:34.25.

2013-2014

Sarah began the 2013-2014 season abroad but returned to the team in January just in time for the Puerto Rico training trip. She came back ready to go and was an immediate contributor in dual meets. At NESCAC championships she swam lifetime bests dropping time in all of her events including a 5:29.18  in the 500 free.

2014-2015

In her senior season, Sarah assumed the Captain mantle sharing it with fellow seniors Ryan Bachur and Vince Galea. In her first full season in two years, Sarah was a continual scorer throughout the dual meet schedule and swam on NESCAC championship relays in the 800 and 400 freestyle.

Personal

Sarah is extremely active on campus serving as a member of Colby Cares About Kids, Hillel, The Bridge, and Colby Leadership Academy. She was one of the athletes featured in Colby Magazine’s nationally recognized article “They Can Play”. The piece celebrated Colby’s culture of acceptance of out LGBTQ athletes and Sarah’s inclusion was just an example of her bravery and leadership. She hopes to hike the Pacific Crest Trail prior to the end of 2016 and her spirit animal is the great white shark. At this time SwimSwam can neither confirm or deny whether or not “Jaws” is her favorite romantic comedy.
