A pair of brothers from San Antonio moved up the national rankings in their respective age groups at the 2026 ST ASC Firecracker meet.
Edmond Reynolds, a 15-year-old, swam personal best times to win the 100 breast (1:03.16) and 200 IM (2:07.38), and also won the 200 breast in 2:17.58. Reynolds also finished 3rd in the 50 breast, clocking a personal best time of 29.51. It was the first meet after his 2028 recruiting window opened.
In the boys’ 15-16 age group this season, Reynolds moved to 8th in both the 100 breast and 200 breast, and 22nd in the 200 IM.
His younger brother Ian Reynolds, 14, clocked five personal best times, winning four of those events. He produced personal best times in the100 breast (1:06.75), 200 breast (2:24.76), 100 fly (59.72) and the 200 IM (2:11.17), and was 2nd in the 50 breast with a personal best time of 31.31. He also claimed the 400 IM in 4:46.77.
In the boys’ 13-14 age group this season, I. Reynolds is 3rd in the 100 breast, 6th in the 200 breast and 11th in the 200 IM.
Other individual standouts were:
- Laurel Hoskovec, a 17-year-old for Austin Swim Club and New Mexico State commit, won six events in the girls’ competition. She swam personal best times to win the 100 free (58.60), 200 free (2:06.84), 400 free (4:28.34), 100 fly (1:04.38) and 200 fly (2:21.56), and also claimed the 50 free in 27.59.
- Also in the girls’ competition, 13-year-old Lucy Griego of Waterloo Swimming swam personal best times to capture the 50 breast (36.07), 100 breast (1:17.89), 200 breast (2:46.36) and the 200 IM (2:30.73). Griego took 3rd in the 200 free with a personal best time of 2:15.99.
- In the boys’ competition, 11-year-old Gabe Nelsen of Central Arkansas Swim Club swam personal best times to win the 50 free (28.19), 100 free (1:01.72), 50 fly (31.28) and 200 breast (2:58.02). He also produced personal best times to take 2nd in both the 100 breast (1:22.78) and 50 breast (37.29).
