Less than two weeks after announcing their engagement, Australian Olympian swimmer Blair Evans and Lee Wansbrough had another reason to celebrate.
In an emotional video posted on Instagram, Evans revealed to Wansbrough that they are expecting a child together.
The video shows Evans and Wansbrough sitting on a bed, and then Evans handing Wansbrough a shoebox.
Instead of shoes being inside, there were baby-related items. Wansbrough eventually caught on to what was happening, and they exchanged smiles, a kiss and a hug.
“I’ve done a lot of special things in my life, but telling Lee he was going to be a Dad is probably my favourite,” Evans said in the Instagram post. “Did he think I bought him a pair of shoes? Perhaps. Growing our baby boy is by far the most rewarding and exciting chapter yet.”
The due date is in early 2027, according to Perth Now.
It should be noted that on July 7, Evans revealed in a separate Instagram post that she was pregnant, showing off her bump in a photo with rocks and water in the background.
Evidently, she kept the news a secret to Wansbrough until letting him know over a week later by presenting the shoebox.
All the baby news came after the two announced their engagement on July 3.
A middle distance swimmer, the now 35-year-old Evans finished 13th in the 400 IM at the 2012 London Olympics, and competed in the event again at the 2016 Rio Games.
At the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia, Evans won the bronze medal in the 400 IM.
Evans now is a pilates instructor in a suburb of Perth, according to Perth Now.

Congrats to the happy couple! I remember cheering her on.
Btw Instagram videos are not always put up on the date they were filmed. There is no way her hubby didn’t know she was pregnant until a week after she posted about it on Instagram 🤣
