About Sharks Swim Club
Sharks Swim Club is a growing and financially stable USA Swimming club serving more than 350 athletes across developmental, competitive, and learn-to-swim programming in Southeast Houston. The Developmental and Age Group pathway consists of approximately 250 athletes and serves as the foundation of the club’s long-term athlete development model. Position Summary
Sharks Swim Club is seeking a full-time Director of Development to lead and oversee our Age Group and Developmental programs. This position shapes the foundation of our athlete pipeline while supporting families, coaches, and long-term club growth. The Director of Development reports directly to the CEO / Director of Performance and supervises 5–8 assistant coaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee approximately 250 athletes across developmental and age group programs.
- Supervise 5–8 assistant coaches and ensure program alignment.
- Lead assigned training groups and collaborate on athlete development strategy.
- Coordinate curriculum, technique progression, and seasonal planning.
- Maintain communication with athletes and parents.
- Organize team culture initiatives and staff development.
- Approve timesheets and assist with budgets and planning.
Learn to Swim Leadership
Potential to oversee the Sharks Learn to Swim program, ensuring high-quality instruction and a seamless progression into competitive swimming. This role includes an additional incentive-based compensation structure tied to Learn to Swim program performance.
Qualifications
- USA Swimming coach in good standing (or ability to obtain).
- 5+ years coaching experience with a strong age group development background.
- Leadership and staff management experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to SafeSport and athlete well-being.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary: $60,000 – $75,000 commensurate with experience.
