Speedo Sectionals Qualifier Logan Jones To Swim For San Diego State Beginning Fall 2027

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Speedo Sectionals qualifier Logan Jones has announced her verbal commitment to swim and study at San Diego State University beginning in the fall of 2027. She publicized the news on Instagram, writing:

I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at San Diego State University! I would like to thank all of my coaches, friends, and family for all of their support! I would especially like to thank Coach Mike, Coach Joe, and Coach Noelle for giving me this amazing opportunity! Go Aztecs!!!

A junior at James Bowie High School in Austin, TX, Jones has been a member of her school’s varsity swimming and diving team since her freshman year. She also currently swims year-round with Hill Country Aquatics, where she primarily specializes in sprint freestyle, butterfly, and backstroke.

Jones recently wrapped up a short course season that saw her drop over two seconds in the 100 fly, a second in the 50 free and 100 free, and a few tenths in the 100 back.

At the University Interscholastic League (UIL) 6A State Championships in February, Jones made an ‘A’ final for the first time, placing third in the 100 fly (54.73) and 17th in the 100 back (57.47). She also helped the team to fourth in the 200 medley relay (24.05 fly split) and 11th in the 200 free relay (24.01 leadoff).

She went on to clock all of her current personal bests at Speedo Sectionals – Justin in March, placing 15th in the 100 back (56.62), 17th in the 50 free (23.51) and 100 fly (54.45), and 29th in the 100 free (51.86).

Top SCY Times:

  • 50 Freestyle: 23.511
  • 100 Freestyle: 51.86
  • 100 Butterfly: 54.45
  • 100 Backstroke: 56.62

A Division I mid-major program, San Diego competes in the Mountain West Conference, with the women’s team winning the conference championship this past season. Jones’ current personal bests would have qualified for the ‘B’ final in the 100 fly and the ‘C’ final in the 100 back, setting her up to be an immediate contributor for the Aztecs, with two full seasons to potentially drop before her first conference meet. It took times of 23.36 and 50.98 to earn a second swim in the 50 and 100 free, putting her outside those cutoffs for now.

Jones joins Bailey Robinson and Skye Schwartz in committing to the Aztecs’ class of 2031 so far.
