Whether you walk on two legs or four, are an elite competitor or a casual weekend warrior, Swim Miami offers something fun for everyone. There’s a 5K and a 10K open water race, an 800-meter swim, and the widely popular one mile race, known as “The Miami Mile.”
But of all the races on the schedule, one is paws down the fan favorite: The K-9 Krawl. It’s paw-sitively priceless as participants and their pups team up for a 200-yard swim, followed by a 400-yard run together.
While the dogs certainly fetched their share of attention, more than 700 human competitors also took part in Swim Miami’s traditional races through Biscayne Bay, in what has become one of the country’s oldest and largest open water events.
While the K-9 Krawl is not an officially timed event, race organizers do record order of finish to determine the winners.
Topping the Podium in the K-9 Krawl:
1st place: Bob Diener with Anabelle
2nd place: Joner Strauss with Reef
3rd place: Sebastian Strauss with Luke

The best open water race in America – festival vibe, fun for spectators, clear water, and safe conditions. Also, in a Miami first, easy parking near the venue.
