2nd Attack on Swimmers, This Time a Beaver

There’s been a 2nd attack on swimmers by a critter. This time it’s reported to be a rabid beaver.

FROM U.K.’s MAIL ONLINE: Eight-year-old Annabella Radnovich and her 11-year-old sister, Alyssa, were playing with their cousins at Lake Anna in Virginia’s Spotsylvania County when the 65 pound animal bit and scratched their legs.

The sisters were rushed to Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center after the attack just before noon on Sunday.

Granted, two consecutive stories does not make a trend, but Otter and Beaver attacks are so rare, I’m going to keep my antenna up. Stay tuned…

Great. Lake Anna is the site of the Eastern Zone Open Water championship in mid-August. Hope the beavers, badgers, otters et al simmer down before then.
