The women’s 200m backstroke final was among tonight’s events on the penultimate evening of competition in Singapore
In the medal-contending race, it was Australia’s Olympic champion Kaylee McKeown who grabbed the gold, turning in a monster time of 2:03.33 for a new championship record.
America Regan Smith posted an effort of 2:04.29 for silver while her stars n’ stripes teammate Claire Curzan registered 2:06.04 for bronze.
Next in line was China’s Peng Xuwei who touched in 2:07.22 for 4th place.
The 22-year-old Chinese swimmer’s result registered as the 4th-best time of her career.
