Just days after the conclusion of the 2025 European Championships, this year’s Italian Short Course Championships are about to get underway.
Beginning tomorrow, Thursday, December 11th and spanning three days, the elite competition is set to bring several of the standout performers from Lublin, Poland in pursuit of national titles.
Simona Quadarella, the newly minted European SC champion in the 1500m free, is expected to race the women’s 200m/400m/800/1500m freestyle events, while breaststroking duo Simone Cerasuolo and Nicolo Martingenghi are entered in the 50m and 100m races of the discipline.
Relay racers Silvia Di Pietro, Agata Maria Ambler and Costanza Cocconcelli are also among the domestic talent ready to take to the Riccione pool.
Italy closed out this year’s edition of the biannual SC Euros in fine fashion, topping the overall medal table with 9 golds, 5 silver and 6 bronze to set themselves apart from the field. The nation earned 10 pieces of hardware on the final night of competition alone.
