2023 AP Race London International Meet Announces $22,000+ in Prize Money

The Adam Peaty-branded AP Race London International Meet scheduled for 2023 has announced £18,000 ($22,086) in prize money.

The meet will award prizes to the top 5 performers at the meet, regardless of gender.

The top five athletes, regardless of gender, with the highest FINA Points swims at the meet will take home prize money.

Prize by place:

  1. £10,000 ($12,270)
  2. £4,000 ($4,908)
  3. £2,500 ($3,067)
  4. £1,000 ($1,227)
  5. £750 ($920)

Notably, Peaty, who is partners in the AP brand with Ed Baxter, is expected to compete, but is ineligible for prize money. That’s good news for everyone else – he is the World Record holder in the 50 and 100 meter breaststrokes, with World Records counting as 1000 point swims. He has 17 career swims worth over 950 points in the 100 breaststroke. His best FINA points swim outside of an international championship is 973 points. His best time outside of a championship is 936 points.

There are only a handful of swimmers in the world who can swim north of 930 FINA points in a non-championship meet in long course.

The meet is scheduled for May 27-29, 2023 at the London Aquatic Center which was built for the London 2012 Olympic Games. The meet is intended to be a coming-together of professional and local youth swimmers.

I have swam at the London Aquatic Center this July. The pool felt amazing, smooth water and I swam fast.

It’s nice to see meets with money with ISL being down.
