2016 German Trials to be Held at Europa Sportpark

The 2016 German National Championships will be held at the Europa Sportpark in Berlin. This will be the 128 German National Championships and will run from May 5th-8th.

This competition will be the main selection meet for the German Olympic Team.

The Europa Sportpark is located in Berlin and has hosted the German National Championships since 2004. The pool includes:

  • a competition pool with a movable turning bridge (50 × 25 × 3 m)
  • a training / warm-up pool (50 × 25 m)
  • a diving pool (21 × 25 × 5 m)
  • a double jump tower with single platforms at 3 m and 7.5 m and double platforms for synchronized diving at 5 m and 10 m
  • a teaching pool (16 x 6 m)
  • a therapy pool with variable depth (9 x 5 m)
  • two wading pool (5 × 5 m)
  • a thermal pool (1,50 x 2 m)

The facility fits 2,500 spectators, but can be expanded to accomodate 4,000.

Since opening 51 world records have been set in the facility.
