Highlighting night three of competition at YMCA Nationals was the girls 100 backstroke as Maggie Dickinson swam to the win in a 53.04, touching just ahead of Lillie Dirito who blasted a huge lifetime best 53.67 for 2nd.
The 13 year old Dirito moves all the way up to #36 all-time in the 13-14 age group with her swim, only a spot ahead of Beata Nelson who swam a 53.72 when she was in the 13-14 age group. She entered the day with a lifetime best 55.19. Dickinson’s winning time was 0.34 off her best.
Maggie Dickinson closed the session with another win, helping YMCA of Metro Milwaukee to a win in the girls 200 free relay. She led off in a 23.07. Also on the relay was Aibhy King, Lauren Komassa, and Anne Dickinson. Anne anchored in a 22.81. That was Anne’s 2nd win of the night as well, as she already won the 200 free in a 1:47.65, only 0.05 off her best time that she swam to win the title a year ago. Anne is committed to Indiana for this fall.
Also earning a win on the girls side was Meghan Ayres who swam to a 4:14.24 in the 400 IM. The 16 year old dropped over five seconds in the event as she came into the meet with a best time of a 4:19.28 from March 2025.
After winning the 200 breast last night in a personal best time, William Rees swam to another lifetime best and win tonight as he touched in a 3:50.97 in the 400 IM. That was a four and a half second drop from his previous best 3:55.51 from December. He was 4th at this meet a year ago in a 3:56.47.
The boys 100 backstroke saw a tie between Jimmy Beeson and Dawson Walters as they both touched in a 47.66. Beeson dropped 0.33 seconds while Walters dropped 0.12 seconds.
West Virginia commit Owen Eisenhofer matched his lifetime best en route to the win in the 200 free, touching in a 1:37.20. He has dropped a second and a half in the event over the last year. Winning the boys para 100 back was Pierce Hampleman in a 1:04.44.
The Champaign County YMCA boys won the 200 free relay in a 1:21.33. The relay consisted of Charles Medlin, Cooper Franz, Emmett Kearns, and Wade Pyle. Pyle anchored in a strong 19.54. That bodes well for the individual 50 free tomorrow as his best time of a 20.33.

Great job kiddo!
