VIDEO: Canadians Speak With Accents, Then Take Selfies, at National Championship Meet

Not only did the Canadians swim at their National Championship meet, they had a little bit of fun, too.

In the above video produced by Swimming Canada, Canada’s elite swimmers practice their Australian and Scottish accents. Australia and Scotland, of course, are this summer’s hosts for the Pan Pac Championships and Commonwealth Games, respectively, and those are the two meets for which they were vying for spots.

Needless to say…the accents were pretty awful. But that’s why they’re not paid voice actors, they’re swimmers, and it was a lot of fun.

At some point along the way, they decided the accents weren’t working, so they just began taking selfies.

Just watch the video. It’s pretty funny.

Good luck to team Canada in their voyages this summer! Just don’t use try and use those accents when trying to go through customs, ehh?
