Aaron Gustafson

Aaron Gustafson
Aaron Gustafson is a student-athlete in his sophomore year at the University of Texas. Born May 31, 1994 to parents, Mark and Susan, Gustafson is studying chemistry. Although he was born in Minnesota, he grew up in the state of Massachusetts and attended King Phillip Regional High School in Franklin. When he’s not in the pool, Gustafson is an enthusiastic Dunkin’ Donuts fan.

University of Texas
2012-2013
In his freshman season at Texas Gustafson competed at the Big 12 Championship finishing 10th in the preliminaries of the 50 free and swam in the exhibition of the 100 and 200 backstroke events.

2013-2014
Gustafson improved drastically his sophomore season, and tuned into his backstroke specialty. At the 2014 NCAA DI Men’s Swimming Championships Gustafson finished 12th in the 100 backstroke, making him an All-American (honorable mention).

National Competition
As a high school student Gustafson broke the New England 17-18 age group record in the 100 backstroke as well as the 2011 Winter Nationals and 2011 National Championships. A year later Gustafson qualified for and competed in the 100m backstroke at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials. He placed 85th.
