Winter Juniors Qualifier Krish Jain To Swim For Columbia University In Fall Of 2026

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Krish Jain has committed to swim at Columbia University, beginning in the fall of 2026. He hails from Jacksonville, Florida, where he swims for the Bolles School Sharks and attends Bolles High School.

He publicized the announcement on social media, writing:

I am honored to announce my verbal commitment to the admissions process to continue my academic and athletic journey at Columbia University! I am extremely grateful to God, all the coaches at Bolles, my family, friends, and my teammates for their unwavering support. I would also like to give a special thank you to Coach Jim, Coach Nate, and Coach Gustavo for giving me this opportunity. GO LIONS!

Jain is a backstroke specialist who also excels in both IMs and the 200 breaststroke. His two target meets of the 2024-25 season were the Winter Junior Championships in December and the Florida Senior Championships in March.

At Winter Juniors, he hit the wall 46th in the 100 back (49.53) and 65th in the 200 back (1:48.99), both a bit off his bests, before logging a then-PB of 2:06.88 for 101st in the 200 breast.

Jain really showed his true potential at the Senior Championships, where he produced best times in all of his events. His highest placement came in the 200 back, where he touched in 1:47.59 to grab fourth overall. He went on to finish fifth in the 100 back, breaking 49 for the first time at 48.89, and also obliterated his 200 breast best all the way down to 2:00.95 for 11th—showing this may be an event with lots of untapped potential. He rounded out his meet with a 1:52.11 for 20th in the 200 IM.

Top SCY Times:

  • 100 Backstroke: 48.89
  • 200 Backstroke: 1:47.59
  • 200 Breaststroke: 2:00.95
  • 200 IM: 1:52.11
  • 400 IM: 3:59.54

Under the direction of head coach Jim Bolster, the Columbia men finished six out of eight teams at the 2025 Ivy League Championships.

On the Lions’ 2024-25 depth chart, Jain would have ranked third in the 200 back, fourth in the 100 back, fifth in the 400 IM, sixth in the 200 breast, and ninth in the 200 IM.

At the Ivy League Championships, where ‘A,’ ‘B,’ and ‘C’ finals are offered, his best times would have put him in the ‘C’ final of the 200 back and 400 IM last season. His best in the 100 back is just outside the 48.72 that was required to make the top 24, while it took times of 1:47.49 in the 200 IM and 1:59.49 in the 200 breast.

Jain joins a Columbia recruiting class that includes three other publicized commits in the high school class of 2026: Tristan McCainLevi Skaistis, and Kyle Li.

Note: A verbal commitment between an Ivy League coach and a prospective student-athlete is not an offer of admission, as only the Admission Office has that authority. The coach can only commit his or her support in the admission process. Ivy League Admission Offices do not issue “Likely Letters” before October 1 of the prospective student-athlete’s senior year of high school. The Likely Letter, while issued after an initial read of the student’s application, is not an offer of admission to the university.
