Victoria Horsman Commits To Tampa Spartans

The University of Tampa has received a verbal commitment from Victoria Horsman, a senior at Sacred Heart Academy in Louisville, Kentucky. She will join the Spartans next fall, for the 2015-2016 season. She had many reasons for choosing Tampa. “The warm climate, welcoming team, challenging coach, and strong academics all made me feel right at home. Can’t wait to be a Spartan,” said Horsman.

Horsman represents the Lakeside Swim Team, specializing in butterfly and freestyle events. As a junior, she placed sixth in the 100 Fly at the 2014 Kentucky High School State Championships, while playing a key role in relay wins for Sacred Heart Academy.

Horsman has been quiet in terms of competing in long course meets, but her junior season was successful, as she swam best times in the 100, 200, and 500 Free, as well as the 100 Fly. Her progress indicates she will continue to improve in her last high school season. She will have an immediate impact on the Spartans, as she will be able to score at the SSC Championships in the 100 Free, 200 Free, 500 Free, 100 Fly (A Final), and 200 Fly (A Final). Horsman will be valuable in helping Tampa continue their SSC Championship streak.
