On November 19, USA Swimming unveiled an updated Quad Plan outlining the schedule of competitions, performance camps, and international meets for 2025-2027 in preparation for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. Many of the exact dates and locations are still TBD, but the plan includes a general plan for the next two-and-a-half years.
The Pro Swim Series will return to its normal four-stop schedule in both 2027 and 2028, following just three stops this past season. Four stops were also announced earlier this year for 2026. As previously reported, this year’s circuit kicks off in January in Austin before returning to Westmont in March and Sacramento in May, and then wrapping up in mid-June in Indianapolis.
The plan also includes National Team Training Camps in March each of the next three seasons, as well as an additional one scheduled for November 2026. All are set to take place at altitude in Colorado Springs.
In years past, the National Team has sort of gone up to altitude in unofficial groups for regular training stints, while their staging camp held just weeks before major international meets represented the sole period all of Team USA’s top swimmers trained together. Whether these new camps will be more formalized versions of those altitude trips or will include the full national team is unclear at this time.
The Junior Team is slated to have separated men’s and women’s camps in April of the next three seasons, which is typical timing for junior camps.
