As we previously reported, Duquesne University announced earlier this week that it would have to cut 4 men’s programs: baseball, wrestling, golf, and swimming. At least 1, men’s swimming, is not giving up easily.

While Head Coach Dave Sheets is working on a full-blown plan to save his program, the first step has been him asking that all A-10 coaches and swimmers contact the school’s Athletics Director and President and tell them why they think Duquesne Swimming should stay.

He has also asked that other coaches hold off on recruiting his swimmers until after the Championship Season, probably in order to make sure they maintain focus, and to give himself some time to save the program.

I’m sure that Mr. Amodio and Dr. Dougherty would love to hear from all interested parties on the matter. Get on it!
