AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Texas Tower will be lit in burnt orange with the number ‘1’ on Tuesday, March 31, to celebrate Texas Men’s Swimming and Diving’s 2026 NCAA Championship.
Fans are encouraged to arrive in front of the Littlefield Fountain on 21st Street from 8-8:30 p.m. CT to watch the team take group photos.
Per UT tradition, the campus landmark is lit in burnt orange from top-to-bottom with the number “1” lit on all four sides when a University of Texas athletics team wins an NCAA team championship.
The Longhorns totaled 445.5 points to win the program’s 17th NCAA title and it’s second consecutive under second-year head coach Bob Bowman on March 28 in Atlanta, Ga.
This marked the first team national championship for The University of Texas during the 2025-26 academic year. Texas now owns 69 all-time National Championships, including 65 NCAA crowns. It also marks the 11th-straight full academic year (not including the 2019-20 season that was cut short due to COVID-19) that the Longhorns have claimed a NCAA team title.
In addition to clinching the program’s 17th NCAA title, UT has a total of 38 top-three finishes at the national meet, including 13 runner-up finishes. The Longhorns have won the NCAA team titles in 1981, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2010, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2021, 2025 and 2026. Texas has 46-consecutive top-10 finishes at NCAAs. It’s Texas’ second-consecutive National Championship since 2018 and its seventh since 2015. Texas has notched 11 National Championships since 2000.
