USC’s women’s team nearly swept every single event. They probably would have if not for Oregon State’s Sammy Harrison.
The Texas class 5A (small schools) state meet was a dramatic finish on the boys side, with Humble Kingwood Park beating Frisco Wakeland in a meet that came down to the final event. Meanwhile Austin Vandegrift won the girls title by sweeping all three relays.
Victoria Edwards (above) and the Austin Westlake girls won last year’s Texas big school State Championship by a single point, and with the top 5 teams separated by only 14 points. This year should be another dogfight.
Destiny Nelson from Frisco, Texas, near Dallas, has verbally committed to USC.
