Lillian Slusna, a Slovak National Record Holder and World Championships Qualifier, has signed with Southern Methodist University for the fall.
Slusna recently competed at the 2025 World Championships in Singapore, where she swam the 50 and 100 free. In the 50 free, she touched in 25.22 to finish 24th out of 100 competitors. This was just off her National Record time of 25.08 from the Slovak Championships in June. In the 100 freestyle, she stopped the clock in 55.48, finishing 30th out of 82.
She also swam at the World Aquatics Short Course Championships in December of last year, finishing 29th in the 50 free (24.64), 27th in the 100 free (54.52), and 28th in the 50 fly (26.23). She holds the SCM Slovak record in the 50 short course freestyle as well with a 25.42 that she swam in April of 2023.

SMU is a member of the ACC where they finished 14th out of 15 teams, just half a point behind Georgia Tech in 13th, and Slusna could be a huge difference maker for them in the point totals.
In the 50 freestyle, her converted time would have been 14th out of prelims at ACCs, qualifying her for the ‘B’ final in the event. SMU’s highest finisher was 22nd place in the event.
That is the only event she would have scored in, but her converted 100 freestyle time would have been 32nd, just over a tenth outside of scoring position. She also had the fastest converted 50 free and 2nd fastest converted 100 free on the team last year, which would have made her a huge asset on relays.
She joins Cassidy Allison, Karly Boles, Chloe Corbin and AnneMarie Vlaic for the class of 2025.
