Ohio University Brings In Lakeside’s Kimberly Zehnder

The Ohio University (Athens, OH) women’s swim team gains a solid freestyler/backstroker in Kimberly Zehnder, as she commits to swim for the Bobcats beginning with the 2015-16 season.  Louisville, KY-native Zehnder currently swims for duPont Manual High School, as well as Lakeside Swim Team (both also based out of Louisville), where she has seen success over multiple events.

At the 2014 Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) Championships, Zehnder earned tenth place in the 50y freestyle with her time of 24.42.  She also swam to a thirteenth place finish in the 100y backstroke, clocking a time of 58.92, just off her personal best of 58.18 from 2013’s KHSAA Championships.

Other best times for the Bobcat-to-be are noted as follows:

100y freestyle – 52.62
200y freestyle – 1:52.02
500y freestyle – 5:12.28
200y IM – 2:12.58

On her decision, Zehnder exclaims, “I am excited to see how my swimming and academic career will progress in my next chapter of life at Ohio University! Go Bobcats!”  Zehnder joins several other ladies who have previously committed to Ohio University, including Brittany Creasy, Corrin VanLanen, Ana Henderson, and Maddie Wyke, giving OU a solid start on their way to a potential twelfth MAC Championship.
