The Emotional Journey of Going to Morning Practice (Video)

This video highlights the struggle every swimmer goes through when trying to get up to go to morning practice. Getting up, leaving your warm bed for nothing but the inevitable cold, exhaustion and pain is something every swimmer debates with themselves every morning before forcing themselves out of bed and onto the pool.

This video put together by Max Ward, a butterfly swimmer at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, takes us inside a swimmer’s head as they debate whether or not they’ll get up and face it that morning.

Once the hard part is over and we arrive at the pool all of the previous negative energy evaporates and we are ready to put in some good work in the pool, as is shown at the end of the video.
