Sam Dellasega, a high school state qualifier from North Carolina, has verbally committed to St. Bonaventure University for the class of 2026.

Dellasega attends Millbrook High School, which is a member of the North Carolina 4A class. This year, he qualified for the State meet in the boys 500 freestyle. At the meet, he set a new personal best time of 4:41.24 to finish 15th overall.
In March, Dellasega swam at the Speedo Sectionals in Cary for his club team New Wave, where he finished 6th in the 1650 (16:14.41), qualified for finals in the 500 free (4:43.46 – 12th), and finished 17th in the 1000 free (10:01.17).

St. Bonaventure is a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference, where they were 2nd last year to George Washington University.
Dellasega will help add depth to the St. Bonaventure roster in the distance freestyle events, though he is still a bit off scoring position. Last season, he would have been 11th in the 200 freestyle, 8th in the 500 freestyle, and 5th in the 1650 freestyle on the team.
He will join a large recruiting class of Ben Witmer, Corey Beard, Asher Cooper, Duncan McClaren, and Dillon Spooner in the Bonnies class of 2030.
