The NCAA Division III NEWMAC conference has shifted Sunday’s final day of competition to a timed finals only session at 10AM with another winter storm lining up for the east coast.
The meet is being hosted at MIT in Boston, which could receive as much as 2 feet of snow in “blizzard conditions” on Sunday and into Monday. A National Weather Service alert puts a Blizzard Warning in effect from 4PM Sunday to 7AM Tuesday, though current forecasts don’t show the heaviest of the snow to hit until Monday.
MIT holds a 396.5 point lead over the US Coast Guard Academy on the men’s side as the Engineers pursue their 17th straight title. The MIT women, chasing their 14th straight title, hold a 549 point lead over the USCGA heading into the final day of competition.
Due to anticipated inclement weather impacting the region, the NEWMAC has adjusted the schedule for Sunday’s final day of competition.
The decision was made in consultation with all participating institutions, our host institution, MIT, and conference leadership to prioritize the safety of student-athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators.
Competition will begin at 10 a.m. and will be conducted as timed finals.
The revised schedule for Sunday will be released shortly.

Good call but tough break for swimmers chasing NCAA cuts.
