MN State Runner-Up Lexi Tippie Sends Verbal To University of Arizona (2027)

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Lexi Tippie of Shakopee, Minnesota, has announced her commitment to continue both her academic and swimming careers at the University of Arizona beginning in the fall of 2027. Tippie competes for Shakopee High School and South Metro Storm, where she excels in sprint freestyle, butterfly, and backstroke events.

“I am extremely blessed and excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at the University of Arizona! First of all, I would like to thank God because none of this would have been possible without Him. I’d also like to thank my family, friends, and coaches for always supporting me. Also, a special thanks to the @arizonaswimdive coaching staff for giving me this amazing opportunity. BEAR DOWN 🐻⬇️❤️💙”

Tippie was the runner-up in the 200 free (1:50.08) at the 2024 MSHSL Girls Class AA State Championship (SCY). She also helped Shakopee’s 400 free relay to a runner-up finish with her 50.39 split. In the 200 free relay, Tippie led off with a time of 23.77, contributing to the team’s 5th-place finish. She also placed 7th in the 100 free (51.16).

At the 2025 Minnesota Senior Short Course Championships, Tippie placed 4th in both the 200 free (1:49.51) and the 100 IM (58.04), 5th in the 100 free (50.89), 7th in the 100 fly (56.44), 10th in the 50 free (23.66), and 11th in the 100 back (57.43). All of these performances remain as lifetime bests.

Tippie was a finalist in multiple long course events at the Futures Championship in Madison this past July, earning several personal bests. She placed 11th in the 50 fly (28.23), 14th in the 200 free (2:05.95), 23rd in both the 50 free (27.03) and 100 free (58.10), and 31st in the 100 fly (1:03.87).

Top Yard Times

  • 50 Free – 23.66
  • 100 Free – 50.89
  • 200 Free – 1:49.51
  • 100 Fly – 56.44
  • 100 Back – 57.43

The University of Arizona women finished 2nd out of 10 teams at the 2025 Big 12 Championships. Tippie still has two more years to continue dropping time, but she already shows the potential to strengthen Arizona’s lineup, particularly in the 200 free. Her current time would have qualified for a finals spot at last year’s conference championships.

Tippie is set to join Kendall Jollands on campus in the fall of 2027. Jollands brings strong times in the butterfly, with a 54.34 in the 100 and a 2:00.24 in the 200.
