THOUGHTS FROM COACH HANSON

Reaction to today’s meet…
“It felt great to have them back in the water today. This was the first meet in a long time for some of these kids and everyone looked comfortable. It wasn’t perfect — we have a few things to work on but we got back at it in the second half and a good starting point for the rest of the season.”

On strength of freshman class…
“The men’s 50 and 100 free — we were back-to-back-to-back in the 1, 2, and 3 in spots all taken by freshman [Avery, Csuvarszki, Chavez]. It was great for them to have their first taste of college swimming today and shows the work we put in last semester.”

On Mima Zaborska’s new school record…
“She just missed the record for the 100 breast by a few seconds and wasn’t actually supposed to compete in the 200 today. It was an exciting moment for her, the whole team was on deck to cheer her on and definitely shows the strength of this freshman class and start of the season.”
